Where You At?

Recently I had the opportunity to mentor a student-led project that sought to creatively examine where we all are personally, professionally, emotionally, and geographically amidst the COVID-19 crisis.

Through a mixed media expression of poetry and photography, the idea was to take a single image that captures truth and pair it with a haiku to communicate the desired sentiment.

The hope with this project was to strip away the excess, all the filler, all the fluff, and challenge ourselves to express a simple, beautiful, devastating truth in just 17 syllables.

This ongoing, collective conversation lives and breathes at whereyouatproject.com. This has easily been one of the most rewarding and grounding experiences I have been able to share with my students.
